First released in 2010, the US HAEA Educational has been the leading source of non-biased, clinically relevant educational content on Hereditary Angioedema. Programs are updated to meet the rapidly changing environment of Hereditary Angioedema.
RELEASED in 2017: The US HAEA is excited to add two new patient simulations utilizing the innovative and award winning Body Interact™ platform to the accredited activities of the US HAEA Educational Initiative. This interactive, immersive simulation allows you to manage the patient in both the Emergency Department and in the office setting. You will be able to review records, order tests and prescribe new medications for the patient. At the conclusion of each simulation case, you will be able to make a diagnosis and then receive a complete Performance Report. This report provides detailed feedback on a timeline that is specific to your actions during the course of the simulation.
The HAEA is also proud to provide an additional CME module specific to the Emergency Department: Angioedema in the Emergency Medicine Setting – Optimizing Management for Every Patient. Drs. Marc Riedl and Jesse Pines cover the unexpected challenges that angioedema can present in the Emergency Medicine setting. Physiology and differential diagnosis for angioedemas are also discussed. This CME program is valuable to physicians, nurses, and others outside of the ER setting as well.

The US Hereditary Angioedema Association Educational Initiative: Consensus Guidelines on Improving the Management of HAE. The HAEA is proud to have the content presented by two leading HAE experts, Drs. Marc Riedl and William Lumry. The educational activity encompasses the most current scientific data and clinical understanding in the areas of recognition, diagnosis and therapeutic management of Hereditary Angioedema (HAE). The discussion by the expert faculty includes recommendations regarding a comprehensive care plan for HAE, covering the following: development of an overall management plan, treatment of angioedema attacks, prophylactic treatment, and patient monitoring. This activity is based on the US Hereditary Angioedema Association’s Medical Advisory Board 2013 Recommendations for the Management of Hereditary Angioedema Due to C1 Inhibitor Deficiency.
