CE Symmetry and the Hospital Quality Foundation have just concluded a large scale accredited educational program entitled Advances in Vascular Medicine and Thrombosis. This series of 34 live lectures was accredited by the Office of Continuing Education in the Health Professions at George Washington University and supported by an educational grant from Janssen. The lectures were delivered by a faculty of 8 thought leaders in thrombosis as Grand Rounds and Medical Conferences at hospitals across the US as well as at chapter meetings of the American College of Emergency Medicine and the Society of Hospital Medicine.
This activity focused on providing evidence based data on the differences between non-vitamin-K-dependent oral anticoagulants (NOACs) and vitamin K antagonists (VKA), discussing the pathophysiology of embolic stroke of undetermined source (ESUS) and how NOACs might be of benefit in its prevention. Additional content included in the presentation was the potential benefit of NOAC therapy for patients with PAD, advanced heart failure and in the hospitalized, medically ill patient. The feedback on these presentations has been exceptional.
CE Symmetry and the Hospital Quality Foundation would welcome the opportunity to provide an educational series on a topic area you feel has a practice gap. We would love for you to contact us to explore these opportunities!
